Help is on hand for first time buyers in Liverpool to get on the property ladder by accessing a range of fees paid free of charge within key regeneration areas in the city.

A fantastic government backed initiative Access to Home Ownership is now available in key areas of regeneration in Liverpool to encourage first time buyers and boost home ownership in the city.

The aim of the service, which is free, is to assist local people seeking to achieve the goal of home ownership by getting them the right information, offering support throughout the whole home buying process and guiding them through to purchasing their first home.

If first time buyers find a property located in a regeneration area of the city, Access to Home Ownership will help with independent mortgage and financial advice but they could also pay towards some of the initial costs of buying the home, which could include legal fees, valuation fees and even mortgage arrangement fee.

The scheme offers the right support to make informed decisions and has links with banks, mortgage advisors and solicitors to offer crucial advice to help access a first home.

The Access to Home Ownership team has already assisted hundreds of local people with free advice and information on how to get the first step on the property ladder and has already helped 256 first time buyers become home owners in Liverpool.

Ross Cope, Project Officer for Access to Home Ownership, explained: "We can provide information about buying a home and give help with every step along the way; even helping those who qualify, to pay the expensive fees incurred when buying your own home.

"Whether local people are looking for a home in the city centre or a 2 bedroom home in the Liverpool area, we can definitely help them get on the property ladder and assist them with all their requirements."

The Access to Home Ownership scheme is operated by The Regenda Group with funding from Liverpool City Council and the NewHeartlands Pathfinder.

For further information on the Access to Home Ownership scheme and the postcodes included in the Liverpool regeneration area, please contact The Access Team on 01204 814334 / 01204 814335 or click on www.accesstohomeownership.org.uk or email info@accesstohomeownership.org.uk.

The Access to Home Ownership Scheme covers Housing Market Renewal Areas in Liverpool. Payment of fees is limited and subject to qualification. Scheme is subject to eligibility and availability. Terms and conditions apply.
