LAND DATA BOARD APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Alex Fraser who has led the company from its inception three years ago, is stepping down from his role as Chief Executive of Land Data at the end of January ’09 to take up a position at Cass Business School. The Board has appointed Jan Boothroyd, the company’s current Deputy Chief Executive as his successor.

Jan, who has been Land Data’s Deputy CEO since its beginning, has an extensive background in the property searches market and her strong connections within the sector make her an ideal leader for Land Data. Acknowledged as the leading Local Land Charges expert in England and Wales, Jan sits on a wide variety of property search related working parties.

Alex Fraser commented “It has been a privilege to lead Land Data from its inception to where it is today and I am pleased to be leaving Land Data in the very capable hands of Jan Boothroyd whose has unrivalled knowledge and experience of the property searches industry and is uniquely placed to lead the organisation through the challenges that lie ahead.”

Imtiaz Farookhi, Chairman of Land Data commented: “Land Data is grateful to Alex for all that he has done over the past three years since Land Data’s inception and we wish him well in his new role. Land Data is very pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Jan Boothroyd to the role of Chief Executive. Jan’s excellent links to local and central government as well as to the wider property searches industry will be crucial in taking Land Data forward.”

Notes to Editors
Land Data manages NLIS, which was set up to support local authorities (LAs) and other property information holders in England and Wales in their move from manual to electronic provision of property information services. Through the NLIS hub, users can access information from 410 Local Authorities, national parks, Land Registry, the Coal Authority and water companies, in an electronic format. Land Data became a Community Interest Company in January 2006 in recognition of its commitment to making electronic property search information accessible to the general public and thereby improving the home buying process.
