Young people and their fathers enjoyed breakfast, crafts and activities at a new once a month Dad’s club on Grimsby’s Willows estate.

Shoreline has provided year long funding for the Saturday facility at the new local children’s centre after residents asked for the provision of the project in the area.

The club is open one Saturday a month from 10am – Noon - a time when working dads and fathers separated from the family have access to their children.

Shoreline grants co-ordinator Lorraine Osgar said: “This is a fantastic facility for this neighbourhood - not only does it provide a safe and welcoming environment for dads and their children to spend quality time together but it also allows them to meet other parents and agencies who can offer support and advice.”

Families can spend quality time together enjoying various activities in a safe and structured environment.

Advice on training, employment and benefits is also available.

Early Years and the Children’s Centre team have worked closely with the parents, community and steering group to establish the club.

Plans are already in place for numerous future activities including a 12 week keep-fit class for dads and their children in the New Year.
