CRISIS MEDIA TRAINING OFFER FOR BELEAGURED CHILDREN’S SERVICES

Media Friendly has just fielded an enquiry from the Children’s Services Department of a Council who fear they have a sensitive case coming up which their local media will try and turn into a Baby P type witch-hunt.

We have also been contacted by another council who are actually launching a new Children’s Services project ( a positive story) “just in case the local media ask us if we could possible have “a Baby P scenario” at our council?”

Tragically, this echoes what happened to Victoria Climbie eight years ago (from a media point of view) with almost every local newspaper or local radio station launching open season on Children’s and Social Services throughout the UK.

With this in mind, Media Friendly, one of the UK’s leading Public Sector training providers is offering a specially tailored Crisis Media course for Children’s Services.

We will focus on any attempts by your local media to try and drag Baby P into virtually any and every media interview over almost any topic covered by your departments.

We are often called up after the damage has been done, so this is your chance to follow the maxim – “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!”

Our tailored Crisis Media Training is designed to help prepare you for almost every eventuality connected to any severe crisis as well as give you a structure and set of tools to conduct successful media relations in future.

We will prepare you for every possible angle of enquiry, relating to crisis issues, from newspapers, radio and television. We can be contacted on 01629 474154 or www.mediafriendly.org
