York Housing Association has been given the seal of approval by key stakeholders for the professional and effective way it delivers its services.

The Association, which provides affordable homes for more than 700 families in and around York, came through an independently researched perception study with flying colours.

Leading organisations who deal with the Association including local authorities, primary care trusts, property developers, financial institutions, partners and regulators held York HA in high regard.

The study, carried out by independent consultant Liz Potter revealed that York HA had performed exceptionally well, was approachable and responsive. The Association kept its promises and was regarded as fair and responsible in addition to being highly effective.

The report concluded: “York HA is well led, driven by values and committed to being responsive and reliable and this runs right through, reflecting well on staff at all levels.”

York HA Chief Executive Christine Storrs said: “The findings of this independent report are very reassuring and are a reflection of the commitment of staff to provide the highest standards of service both to our tenants and our partners.

“York HA is playing a major role in providing local people with high quality homes at affordable rents and also operates a number of initiatives to support vulnerable and disadvantaged people to lead an independent and fulfilling lifestyle.

“We are making a major contribution to helping York’s homeless people through our work with the Arc Light Centre and are working alongside City of York Council in providing nearly 200 new homes through the Discus initiative.

“In order for us to achieve all our objectives it is essential that we have excellent working relations with a large number of diverse organisations and this report is a valuable indicator that we are on track in this regard.”
