25 November, 2008 – The Accord Housing Association has deployed a real-time web security solution from Cheshire-based IT and data security experts Network Defence, to secure its corporate business information and increase employee productivity.

The unified threat management system recommended and implemented by Network Defence has been rolled out to 300 users to protect against web-borne threats and identify and prevent abuse of the company network.

Ian Tinsley, information systems manager for Accord Housing, said: “We have worked with Network Defence before and know how reliable and competent they are when it comes to recommending and deploying robust security solutions.

“The solution they have provided has given us exactly what we wanted. As well as protecting the network it has enabled us to run monthly and on-the-spot reports detailing or quizzing user activity. Importantly it has also enabled us to comply with strict housing industry security audit policies.”

As part of the installation Network Defence assessed Accord Housing’s requirements and implemented a Finjan NG5100 appliance and Watchguard firewall combined with a Network Defence managed service.
