Large numbers of developers are scaling down or halting development in this tough housing market, but Paradigm Housing Group is continuing to build affordable homes.
A ‘ground-breaking’ event held on November 19 heralded the start of a new affordable housing development at Grove House, Waltham Cross.
Paradigm is building two blocks of flats on the site of the old L&L Rubber Company close to Theobolds Grove Station, in partnership with Broxbourne Borough Council.
Twenty two-bedroom flats will be offered for social renting and 10 for shared-ownership sale. All the flats will be fully carpeted, with fitted kitchens complete with washer/dryers and fridge/freezers. They are scheduled to be ready by August 2009.
The council’s waiting list shows that there is an urgent need for affordable housing in Waltham Cross, as in other areas.
