Adactus Housing Group celebrated National Customer Service Week (6-12 October) by organising a number of events to raise awareness to staff of the importance of excellent customer services and the role it plays in the organisation but also to help benefit those less fortunate than themselves.
Several staff members took part in a 5K charity fun run around Alexander Park in Moss Side and raised £200 which was donated to local charity The Mustard Tree, an organisation that provides soup runs to help homeless people in Manchester city centre. Eight members of the Adactus team then volunteered their spare time on a Sunday evening to help The Mustard Tree prepare and serve food to over 50 homeless people in Manchester city centre.
Each office held a free raffle for ASDA vouchers and visitors to the reception areas of each Adactus office were treated to free treats including cakes, sweets and biscuits. Coffee mornings and quizzes were also held at a number of shelters.
Internally, customer service suggestions were sent to all staff each day to remind them of the importance of Customer Services and how they can play a part.
Jennifer Yearsley, Compliance Officer for Adactus, said: We are very customer focused and ensure that all of our tenants are treated well at all times. National Customer Service Week provided us with an opportunity to organise a few special events in the local community and we also used the week to praise our staff for the fantastic job they do all year round for us and our tenants.
But what is more important as this week gave us the opportunity to help others outside of the organisation. We are very proud of our staff who gave up their own time to help and raise money for The Mustard Tree, and feel this demonstrates their true caring and selfless nature.
Tony McMahon, Regional Manager and Lead on Customer Care for Adactus said The programme of events during the National Customer Services Week is only the beginning of a real commitment to
first-class customer care. We have recently joined the Institute of Customer Services as we want to live and breathe first-class customer service performance and professionalism. We aim to build
stronger partnerships with a range of organisations like the Mustard Tree to make real differences to peoples lives
