Orbis has strengthened its position as the UK’s leader in empty property protection by winning more than £500,000 of new business.

Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership and West Yorkshire Police are just two of the organisations to award contracts to Orbis – just months after a major revamp at the company.

The new contracts cover empty property protection in Scotland and emergency boarding of properties for the police.

Mark Cosh, Orbis’ sales & marketing director, said the contracts wins from other companies in the sector, showed Orbis was rapidly reaping the benefits from its fresh, refocused approach to business.

He said: “Winning this new business firmly underlines our position as the number one choice for companies and authorities looking for cost-effective, flexible high quality support services 24/7.”

Earlier this year Orbis began rolling out key improvements to the way it looks after its customers, including boosting its 24/7 response operations and investing in stock and technology.

The four-year contract with Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership will see Orbis securing and protecting empty properties due for demolition.

The Partnership, which is Scotland’s second largest landlord with around 10,600 properties on its books, is transforming communities as part of the largest ongoing Neighbourhood Renewal Programme in Scotland.

Mark Whytock, development and regeneration officer for DGHP, said: “When regenerating an area it is important to make sure empty homes are secured swiftly to prevent them becoming targets for vandals and an eyesore in the community.

“With Orbis we know we get a rapid, quality service every single time and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to other organisations.”
