TWO groups which look after children have been awarded a combined total of £500 by a local housing association.
The Honeypot group is a parent, carer and toddler group which runs on Wednesdays from 9.30am to 11.30am during school term time at the Salvation Army Citadel in High Street, Boston.
Boston Mayflower gave Honeypot cash under the housing association's Community Champions award scheme.
The scheme rewards groups and organisations which perform outstanding work in the local community.
Co-leader of Honeypot, Sue Collins, said: "We will use Boston Mayflower's money to replace some of the play toys the group uses.
"The other half of the £500 award will be used by the Champions Challenge Holiday Group (CCHG), also based at the Citadel - which will spend the cash on equipment for crafts and refreshments."
CCHG ran during the first week of the school summer holidays, and also operates as a club for older children.
The group costs just £1 per week to attend per family.
