Sanctuary superstars take on City Challenge
Intrepid staff from Sanctuary Group, one of the UKs leading housing providers, have helped raise funds for a childrens charity in the Wragge & Co City Challenge.
Bernadette Bird, Nathan Warren, Gareth Dixon, Mark McCarthy and Janet Robbins, who all work at Sanctuarys Worcester head office, went head of head with 14 other teams at the Birmingham event to raise funds for national charity KidsOut.
The physical challenges included abseiling down the Malmaison building at the Mailbox and canoeing down Birmingham Canal. Teams also tried curry tasting, which Sanctuary were proud to win and had their mental skills tested in a brainteaser quiz.
Janet Robbins, Sanctuarys Group facilities and purchasing services manager said: It was an absolutely fantastic afternoon. We were having fun and working hard for charity.
The event raised a total of £12,000 for KidsOut, which will help purchase a mobile sensory unit for youngsters with illnesses and disabilities.
Lorna Gavin, head of corporate responsibility for leading UK law firm Wragge & Co said: Were committed to working with charity and community groups and pleased that this ambitious fundraising event has generated so much support.
