Merseyside Residents Network Empowerment Academy Launched

Today in Liverpool the innovative MRN Empowerment Academy was successfully launched by Ms. Katy Brookes-Duncan (Team Leader, Decent Homes Finance & Mixed Communities Division CLG).

Following the launch, two ninety minutes workshop/consultation sessions were held to gather the views of tenants and residents representatives from across Merseyside. Their response to the recent Community Empowerment White Paper Communities in control, real power, real people and Merseysides collective response to the CLG National Tenant Voice Consultation paper will inform the MRN Official responses to Government.

The oversubscribed event is the first in a permanent series of FREE Empowerment and consultation events for tenants and residents delivered by MRN to help ensure the Merseyside Voice is heard in the corridors of power.

The MRN Empowerment Academy we believe is the first in England facilitated and delivered by tenants to tenants.

Future events will cover all topics of relevance to tenants and residents.

FREE Academy Events will normally take place every 6-8 weeks, and will be open to all constituted tenant/resident representative organisations as well as leaseholders, shared ownership and private tenants to attend.
