NEW PROGRESS HOUSING ASSOCIATION evicted a tenant on Wednesday July 30 for persistent anti-social behaviour.
New Progress Tenant Janet Walker of 19 Pages Court, Lostock Hall, was evicted from her home after engaging in alcohol fuelled anti social behaviour.
New Progress Housing Association had offered Ms Walker support in an effort to prevent her carrying out incidents of alcohol fuelled anti social behaviour, however the tenant refused to co-operate.
During a Possession hearing at Preston County Court, District Judge Talbot advised Ms Walker to acknowledge that alcohol caused her to behave in an unacceptable manner and that this was not acceptable to the Court and the Housing Association.
Head of Housing Operations for NPHA, Gary Melia, said: We offer support to all our tenants but when they refuse to work with us to stop their anti-social behaviour, and continue to behave in a manner that prevents other tenants from living in a safe and peaceful community, we will enforce their tenancy conditions.
This case sends out a strong message of reassurance to our tenants that we are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and will pursue perpetrators through whichever channels are
necessary.
