36 year old Justine Hargreaves launched a celebration to mark the completion of a brand new housing scheme in Accrington, Lancashire last week.

Justine is one of 23 households who have moved into architect designed homes which have been developed by housing and regeneration company Contour Housing Group on behalf of its subsidiary Hyndburn Homes.

Ken Bury Managing Director from Hyndburn Homes said: We are delighted to mark the completion of this £2.3m scheme which has been developed to meet the needs of the local population. This is the first new build scheme that Hyndburn Homes will manage and I hope that it will be the first of many.

The scheme is unique because of the variety of housing built. Comprised of apartments, family homes and bungalows this development will genuinely offer something for everyone.

Justine Hargreaves has moved into one of the larger family homes. The children think the new house is wonderful, she said. This house is actually bigger than our old house and as well as a garden we have also gained a dining room and an extra bedroom. We love it.

Carli Hardman who is confined to a wheelchair previously lived in a one-bedroom flat and has now moved into her new spacious 2-bedroom home. She said: I couldnt get around in my previous flat and this is so much better for me. I have plenty of space to move around and that means I have more independence.

Contour Housing Group project managed the scheme and helped secure funding from the Housing Corporation and Housing Market Renewal as well as Hyndburn Homes itself. The scheme was developed by Richardson Projects.

John Burt a Director for Contour Housing Group said: The achievement of providing twenty-three much needed properties in Hyndburn Homes first two years of operation is something that the whole of the Contour Housing Group are very proud of.
