Bootle based community group, The Klondyke Street Reps, have been recognised at this year’s Sefton Housing Market Renewal Community Champions Awards, winning an award for ‘Promoting Community Services’ through their newly established Community Directory.

The Klondyke Street Reps and the BReathe+ Consortium have been working together to produce the Community Directory which was launched with a community event to coincide with European Good Neighbours Day.

Attractions included face painting, bouncy castle, music and a sizzling BBQ for all of those who attended. The event attracted over 100 residents from the local community and the directory was well received by all.

Adactus Housing Group, the lead partner in the BReathe+ Consortium, works extensively, with Sefton Housing Market Renewal, to deliver change and improvements in the Klondyke area of Bootle, providing a range of neighbourhood services which tackle litter, crime and anti-social behaviour as well as providing new homes in the area.

Chris Richardson, Regeneration Office for Adactus Housing Group, said: “The Klondyke Community Directory has been a great success since we launched it in May and we are extremely proud to have received this award.

"We are working closely with local residents and want to reinstate a sense of community and neighbourhood pride to Klondyke, as well as making the area a cleaner, safer and smarter place where people want to live and work.”

BReathe+ and Adactus Housing Group are always looking for residents who want to be involved in the redevelopment of the Klondyke area to give their views and opinions.
