A housing association has begun a search for people to join its boards and committees to help run the £55m-a-year housing and care charitable organisation.

The Accord Group, which has offices across Birmingham and the Black Country, needs a number of people with a range of skills to help manage the organisation and ensure it delivers excellent services.

Most of the vacancies are on a voluntary basis with paid expenses, although some posts do attract limited remuneration. Board and committee members can access free training and are supported to improve their skills and knowledge.

Accord is looking for a number of people with the following skills:

  • Housing
  • Property Management & Maintenance
  • Information Technology
  • Care/Community Care
  • Finance/Audit/Banking
  • Legal
  • Human Resources/Organisational Development

Accord Group Deputy Chief Executive Lakhbir Jaspal said: “We want local people to get involved in shaping the services we deliver to local communities.

“Being a board or committee members is a really rewarding and interesting way to get involved in the community and perhaps develop yourself at the same time.”

Boards and Committees normally meet every 2-3 months for an evening with an additional handful of paid-for special events or ‘away days’ each year.

To get more information or express an interest in becoming a board or committee member call 0121 500 2369 or email wendyb@accordha.org.uk.
