A LEISURE centre in Leverton has been able to update its facilities following the latest hand out of a £500 award from the Boston Mayflower Housing Association.
The association chose to help the 10-member voluntary committee which runs the centre after hearing they needed to install a new modern cooker there to enable visitors to provide catering during events.
Many of Mayflower's tenants use the leisure centre, and the cash from the housing association enabled up-to-date cooking equipment to be installed.
Chairman of the leisure centre's voluntary committee, David Pawson, said: "The equipment we had before was old and badly needed updating.
"We all agreed we needed a new electric cooker to meet regulations.
"The money from Mayflower has meant we can look ahead to the next 20 years without having to worry about the cooking equipment here."
Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council also supported the project to help refurbish the leisure centre.
