Sarsen resident Amanda Buttle has scooped a £100 bonus for leaving her home in mint condition when she moved out.

Mrs Buttle had lived in the housing association property in Devizes for 14 years and staff were amazed to find it left so clean and tidy.

Sarsen runs a cash bonus scheme to encourage residents to leave their homes in good condition when they move out, making properties easier to re-let quickly. Mrs Buttle is the first resident to win the cash bonus this year.

Sarsens re-lettings officer Sarah Paget said: We see all sorts after people move out. We expect to do some re-decoration, minor repairs or cleaning because of natural wear and tear, but sometimes homes are left damaged and in a real state. It was refreshing to see how well Mrs Buttle had looked after her home. She has done us all proud.

Residents must also have a clear rent account to qualify for the bonus. The cost of repairing or cleaning a home which has not been left in a reasonable condition is charged back to residents.

Mrs Buttle said: Im quite house proud and I like my home to look clean and tidy. The cash bonus will come in handy when I start decorating my new home.
