Willow Park Housing Trust marked European Neighbours Day (May 27th) with a number of events for all age groups across the community.
Celebrated across the continent, European Neighbour's Day aims to encourage neighbourly and community involvement amongst people from all ages and backgrounds.
The Trust held a junior 5 a side football tournament at Benchill Community Centre. A passionate performance was given by all, with local schools - Benchill Primary School, Haveley Primary School, St Anthonys Primary School and St John Fisher and St Thomas More Primary School - entering teams. There was a guest appearance from Altrincham Football Club striker Colin Little, who presented the trophy to the winning team and kindly donated a signed Altrincham FC shirt to the free raffle. Benchill Community Centre opened their community café and a great day was had by parents and children alike.
Other activities on the day included a coffee morning at Willowbrook Gardens and a childrens party at Ken Collis Court, with residents and neighbours dressing up as their favourite characters from
childrens stories. The day was a brilliant opportunity to bring the generations together!
