Housing association Accent Peerless Ltd is making sure that future repairs to its properties are made quickly and to the highest standards by involving residents throughout the appointment process of its new repairs’ contractor.

A CORE group consisting of six Accent Peerless residents from different types of properties was established to appoint and evaluate the performance of the new repairs contractor, Connaught Partnerships Ltd.

The residents were involved in all stages of the appointment process and even visited Connaught’s current locations to see for themselves the quality of work that was being carried out.

Hilary Muscott, an Accent Peerless resident and CORE group member said of the new contractors: “Although they work in a different way to what we have previously known, we were aware of Connaught’s full commitment to residents coming first.

"We have been meeting regularly with the team at Connaught since they were awarded the contract to put forward any further concerns and solutions to any problems we think might help and benefit residents. We feel very confident that they will provide a good service to us all.”

Paul Day, Head of Property Services at Accent Peerless added: “When we decided to appoint a new repairs’ contractor, it was absolutely vital for our residents that we made the right choice.

"The obvious action therefore was to involve our residents in the decision-making process. Our CORE group’s input has been really constructive and is the reason that I am so certain we have made the correct choice in appointing Connaught.”
