The Riverside Group scooped the top prize at the Housing Excellence Awards.
The organisation - which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year – won the gong for Social Landlord of the Year.
The judges were looking for a social landlord that performs well in tenant and resident involvement; promotes communities that people feel safe and secure in; tackles anti-social behaviour, homelessness and social exclusion; and is committed to local employment initiatives.
The Riverside Group was also recognised for its open, accessible and responsive customer service and its commitment to partnership working.
Deborah Shackleton, Chief Executive of The Riverside Group: “It is a great honour to be crowned Social Landlord of the Year at any time but it’s even more special this year because it is our 80th anniversary. It’s a reflection of how over the past eight decades, we have extended our roots out of Liverpool to provide affordable homes and resources to regenerate communities across the UK. In this very special year when Liverpool is European Capital of Culture, it gives us a chance to remind ourselves about why we were created, and to join in the city’s celebrations.”
The awards were organised by Northern, Midlands and Southern Housing magazines.
