The Housing Corporation today announced its decision that the statutory transfer of land from Black Roof Community Housing Association (BRCHA) to ASRA Greater London Housing Association under the
terms of Paragraph 27, Schedule 1 of the Housing Act 1996 must now be implemented.
The decision follows the consent given earlier this month by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for the transfer to go-ahead.
Asit Acharya, Managing Director of ASRA said: “We are pleased a decision has now been reached and are delighted to welcome BRCHA residents to ASRA.
“BRCHA’s properties are in the London Boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth. Our head office is based in Southwark, and we already manage over 150 homes in Lambeth. We know both
areas very well and understand local community needs.
“ASRA has over 25 years experience in delivering first class affordable housing to people of all ages, and from all communities. We are committed to providing our residents with high quality,
accessible services and will ensure the transfer is as smooth as possible.”
ASRA, part of the LHA-ASRA group, manages nearly 2,500 homes across Greater London and the Home Counties
Many residents are continually involved in shaping the quality and type of services they receive and ASRA actively promotes equal opportunity and respect for the needs of everyone in the community.
