A Lancashire man who repeatedly terrorised Housing Association tenants with alcohol fuelled anti-social behaviour was sentenced at Preston County Court to three months imprisonment this week.
John Bryce from Ingol, Preston, was sentenced to the jail term after breaching the terms of his Injunction with Power of Arrest. The injunction, awarded to New Progress Housing Association in March, excluded Bryce from the Pages Court area of Lostock Hall, which is managed by the Leyland-based Housing Association.

Bryce, aged 53, who is not a New Progress tenant, had repeatedly visited a property in the area and caused alarm and distress to residents. Complaints to the local Police and New Progress from neighbours about Bryce's persistent alcohol fuelled anti-social behaviour led to legal action by the Association and his eventual imprisonment.

Speaking in Court, District Judge Ashton commented: 'You are seriously in contempt of the order of this court (to stay away from the Pages Court area) and I therefore impose a three month prison sentence.'

Said Gary Melia, Head of Housing Management at New Progress Housing Association:
'Our tenants have a right to feel safe in their homes and communities. We will support any resident in their defence of this right and we will challenge any individual whose behaviour is causing unacceptable nuisance or distress to community.’
