MORRISON SIGNS RIVERSIDE CONTRACT FOR THE CAPITAL OF CULTURE

Contractor Morrison Facilities Services has signed a £15 million property maintenance contract with The Riverside Group to deliver improved home maintenance and repair services to its residents in the Liverpool area.

In the deal, worth £3 million per year over the next five years, Morrison will provide repair and maintenance support for 12,000 homes belonging to The Riverside Group in North Liverpool, Sefton and St Helens.

The Riverside Group residents will benefit from improved repair services as a result of the new deal. Morrison will help the housing group speed up response times and reduce the amount of time it takes to complete repair work by using the latest personal communications technology. This will enable The Riverside Group to concentrate on delivering high quality services to its residents.

John Wood, managing director of Riverside Housing which is part of the group, said: “Tenants have told us that the repairs service is the most important thing we do for them and so we are keen to provide the best service we can. Our tenants have been involved in the review of our maintenance service and in the appointment of Morrison. We already provide a good repairs service but the changes that Morrison and Riverside will be introducing should result in a more timely service with more repairs done right first time. We look forward to working in partnership with Morrison to deliver a high level of customer service to our tenants and residents.”

Morrison Facilities Services and The Riverside Group are jointly visible in the branding. Vans and work wear will carry both sets of logos under the strap line “working in partnership to repair your home.”

Morrison will employ up to 80 per cent of its workforce directly from local labour sources within six months of starting work on the contract.

Des Smith, regional partnering director at Morrison Facilities Services, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Riverside Group on its maintenance projects and we are looking forward to developing our relationship. We supported The Riverside Group prior to going live to make the transition from previous contractors to Morrison Facilities Services as smooth as possible.

“The contract is based on a partnering process and we are looking forward to developing that partnership with The Riverside Group over the coming years.”
