It has been the worst kept secret across the social housing sector for the past six months but we can now confirm the rumours are true, 24dash.com is launching a new monthly magazine.
From the end of May, housing professionals will be able to pick up and peruse the first ever edition of 24housing, an exciting blend of news, views and features that has the unique selling
point of actually keeping its readers awake rather than sending them to sleep with the first mention of policy and some bloke in a tie talking about procurement.
Far be it from us to criticise the trade press currently serving social housing, but the main reason we are launching 24housing is because we feel it is about time that a forward-thinking,
pro-active, people-focused sector had a magazine with the same objectives rather than looking like a parish newsletter knocked out in 10 minutes.
Put simply, the 24housing mission statment is to 'inspire, inform and entertain housing professionals with a rich mix of news and views, celebrating the humanity at the heart of social
housing'.
But to achieve this we're going to need a lot of help from press, marketing and communications teams because it is YOUR news we want - and the more off-beat the better.
Without giving too much away, regular features within 24housing will embrace people who have made a difference to their communities (whether they are housing professionals or tenants),
successful people looking back at their roots in social housing and an entire section devoted to your news and pictures.
