A nuisance tenant who made her neighbours’ lives a misery with her constant shouting and loud music has been evicted from her council home.

Residents in Farndon Road, Ellesmere Port, joined forces with Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council when the tenant’s behaviour became too much to bear.

The council supported neighbours in keeping log sheets and making statements about the woman’s anti-social behaviour, which resulted in her being taken to court and evicted last month.

The council believes the move sends a clear message that it will take a tough line on tenants who show no consideration to their neighbours.

Allan Lewis, the council’s Head of Housing Landlord Services, said: “The neighbours in this case were fantastic.

“Their commitment to working with us to solve this problem was the key to achieving the eviction.

“We are delighted that this harrowing time for them is finally over.”

He said: “Anti-social behaviour is a breach of our tenancy agreement and will not be tolerated.

“We work hard with tenants to mediate and resolve problems but if their behaviour continues to be unreasonable and has an adverse effect on others, we will take firm action.”

He added: "Neighbours do not have to put up with nuisance tenants.

“I would urge anyone in a similar position to come and speak to us.”
