the launch of CHC's new commercial membership
Community Housing Cymru (CHC) has developed a new category of membership for commercial organisations offering products and services to housing associations in Wales.
Commercial membership allows for companies with an interest in the Welsh social housing market to become involved with CHC, contribute to their work and current debates, as well as gaining greater awareness about the work of the sector and the future developments within it.
The membership package provides a stream of information to members about news and events through quarterly e-briefings and its bi-monthly magazine Cartref.
In addition to this, there will be regular opportunities to meet with key members of staff from CHC and its housing association members to discuss policy and developments within the movement.
Commercial members also benefit from discounts on the cost of attending any of CHC’s specialist conferences and topical seminars that run regularly throughout the year at venues across Wales.
The new category of membership was launched at the Vale Hotel, South Wales, on 17th May at a reception where Chief Executive Nick Bennett and Chair Chris O’Meara welcomed guests and new commercial members onto this real step forward in enhancing the relationship between housing associations, CHC and suppliers to the movement.
CHC Chief Executive Nick Bennett said, “The new category reflects the desire of Community Housing Cymru to forge stronger links with its commercial partners and build relationships that benefit the sector as a whole. The membership is aimed at all suppliers who have a stake in expanding social housing spend, either through stock transfer, through increased Social Housing Grant, or the increased business that would result from us being regulated better”.
