Homeless Link will be staging its annual two-day conference in Birmingham in July.

The conference entitled 'Journeys home: an end to rough sleeping', is being held at Aston Business School, starting on July 11.

Ten years ago the Government set out its ambition to cut rough sleeping to as close to zero as possible.

A Homeless Link spokesman said: "We've come a long way since then. Thousands of people have made the journey away from life on the streets.

"Housing and support are linked, more is done to prevent homelessness and homeless people have a greater say in shaping services.  Other countries look to the UK to learn from our experience.  But we can do better."

The spokesman added: "Journeys home is essential for everyone who wants to tackle homelessness in all its forms. In the plenaries, discussions, workshops and networking we'll debate what has succeeded, showcase what is working now and consider what has to change.

"Journeys home will be packed with thought provoking sessions. Speakers from Government and Opposition will set out their plans. Sector innovators will explain new approaches that deliver real results. If you want to know what the future will hold, if you want to play your part in ending homelessness, this is the place to be."

More information about the event is available by telephoning Homeless Link on 020 7960 3032.
