People in South Staffordshire who want to kick off the New Year on a healthy note by quitting smoking are being invited to find out what help is available.

New drop-in sessions will be launched at the Philip Dix Centre in Tamworth, with trained advisors available to provide the advice, support and encouragement you may need.

By signing up to the programme, you can also gain access to stop smoking treatments for up to 12 weeks to help manage the cravings.

Julia Moore, Stop Smoking Co-ordinator said: “New Year's Resolutions don't always last as long as we would like them to. So, for those of us looking to make a lifestyle change and stop smoking for good, advice and support is available from Time to Quit, the local Stop Smoking Service.

“We are delighted to be offering these sessions to the residents of Tamworth. The trouble is people don't always know what support is out there and how to access it. Hopefully, by working together with our partner agencies, we can make it easier to promote what support is on offer and as a consequence, improve the health and well-being of the local people."

Sessions will run from the 1 December on Tuesdays between 5pm and 7pm and Saturdays between 10am and 12pm.

Anyone interested can pop in to the Philip Dix Centre or call 0800 043 4304.
