A Bridgnorth-based enterprise is celebrating its first eight months in business by creating up to 100 sales jobs as customers rush to go green and save thousands off their corporation tax bill in the process.

AllianceCo2.com, the brainchild of former Savills Associate David Henderson, specialises in helping companies and individuals offset their carbon emissions by planting trees throughout the UK.

Tens of businesses – including hotels, manufacturers and quantity surveyors – have already signed up and are benefiting from a tailored service that allows them to channel money reserved for their corporation bills into saving the environment.

“It’s a win-win situation to be honest, as the company uses money it was going to be giving to the tax man towards combating climate change,” explained David.

“Our expert team of advisers will visit the client and calculate the numbers of trees needed to start offsetting their carbon footprint and then plant and maintain them in a UK location.”

He continued: “The latter is really important and different to how our competitors operate, with many choosing to use international destinations.”

AllianceCo2.com, which already has a staff of 4, has enjoyed such demand for its services that it is now looking to find another 100 field sales representatives from the West Midlands.

Initially on an attractive commission based salary, the positions are open to anyone who has a background in sales with extensive training given in carbon offsetting and environmental good practice.

“This is a great opportunity for people who may have suffered from the downturn and lost their jobs. We want to get enthusiastic and committed people into these roles as soon as possible as we are getting phone calls every day from organisations keen to embrace the ‘Alliance’ approach,” explained David.

“All they have to do is email careers@allianceco2.com and register their interest and we’ll be in touch to start the recruitment process.”

A 12-month subscription to AllianceCo2 can be tailored to suit the needs and emissions of the company.

Once an action plan is agreed, firms can then use the accreditation on all stationery, websites and marketing material to highlight their commitment to combating climate change.

“More and more decisions in business and the home are taken with a green agenda and both consumers and clients are beginning to make their choices based on eco-friendly credentials,” added David.

Over 10,000 trees are on target to be planted in AllianceCo2’s first year and these can be found around school grounds, low grade farmland and steep banks.

The company firmly believes it is important for the client to see what it is doing and, wherever possible, it will be providing companies and their employees with the chance to walk around the ‘ancient woodland of the future.

David concluded: “We want to make a difference and are well on the way to fulfilling our dream of planting one million trees in the UK.

“Architects, building firms and hotels are amongst the most popular client, with the Park House Hotel in Shifnal inviting its guests to pay an optional £1 extra each night in return for a growing cash pot that will be spent on planting trees.

“And we know that new business is already being generated thanks directly to firms holding our stamp of approval, which has got to be good news!”
