Northgate Managed Services (Northgate), a leading provider of ICT services and solutions, has been announced as Blackburn with Darwen and Bolton Councils preferred bidder for the supply of ICT in the £450million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
The new public private partnership consisting of Blackburn with Darwen and Bolton Councils, Balfour Beatty Education and Partnerships for Schools (PfS) will refurbish or rebuild nine Blackburn with Darwen secondary schools (one phase) and 15 Bolton schools (three phases), providing flexible and attractive learning environments that better support learning. Northgate will provide and manage the very latest innovative learning and teaching tools to make learning more engaging and exciting.
Northgate already supplies managed services to over 1,200 school and college networks across the UK and is responsible for 14 out of 127 schools currently benefitting from BSF investment as well as providing interim managed services to an additional 10 BSF schools. This is Northgate’s fourth BSF contract win, in addition to recent success in the single schools and academies market.
David Hyland, Managing Director, Education, Northgate Managed Services said: “We are delighted to be a part of the preferred bidder consortium for Blackburn with Darwen and Bolton. Northgate is in an outstanding position to supply state-of–the-art ICT managed services across the boroughs. By working in partnership with the schools and local authorities, we will be able to challenge the thinking of what is possible with ICT provision to help deliver personalised learning tailored to the needs, interests and aptitudes of their learners.”
