Eynesbury Methodist Church make a real difference to young people’s lives following a year of fundraising in aid of Axiom’s Young People’s Foyer, Paine’s Mill in St Neots.

On Sunday 13 November,Karen Staines, Sue Ward (Project Workers from Paine’s Mill) and Cheryl Hess (volunteer) were invited along to Eynesbury Methodist Church to collect the proceeds of a year’s worth of fundraising from the congregation.

Karen Staines (Paine’s Mill Project Worker) said:

“In the latter part of 2009, I applied to a variety of charities to help raise funds to run our third residents team building residential.  We found that our two previous team building events proved really important not only for the immediate experience of the activities performed, but also for the group skills, communication and bonding that resulted”.

Sue Ward (Paine’s Mill Project Worker) added:

“I remember visiting Eynesbury Methodist Church Ladies Group to talk about the Foyer and to thank them for their kind donations of furniture, linen and Harvest Festival food for our young residents”.

“We were delighted to be invited back by the ladies and were delighted to hear that the Church had decided to select Paine’s Mill Foyer as their chosen charity for 2010”.

Cheryl Hess (volunteer) said:

“When we collected the cheque this week, we couldn’t quite believe that the Church had raised a grand total of £6,413.62 over the last year.  Our residents will benefit greatly from this money; we are now planning a variety of team building activities which will make a real difference to their lives and well-being”.

Axiom Housing Association would like to thank Eynesbury Methodist Church for their dedication and kind work.  As a lasting memory, photographs will be donated to the church of each of the activities organised so they can have a lasting memory of their amazing generosity.
