Luminus Ferry Project employee Ian Rutterford is spending a night on the streets to raise money for Cancer Research UK and raise awareness of the difficulties homeless people face.
On Saturday 16 July, and with the full support of Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Night Shelter Leader Ian and other volunteers will spend the night sleeping rough under the guildhall in Cathedral Square, Peterborough.
Ferry Project Chairman Chan Abraham has given the fundraising a kick start by donating £280 to the cause. If you would like to support Ian then visit his Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/ianrutterford0705.
Ferry Project has been helping the homeless with love and support towards independence for over ten years, providing practical, emotional and financial support to people who have lost everything. Ian leads the team at the Night Shelter, which provides temporary accommodation to homeless migrants who do not qualify for state benefits, and his passion for giving the homeless a second chance is inspirational.
Ferry Project Chairman Chan Abraham said,
“Luminus and our employees actively support a number of charities and I am delighted than Ian has undertaken this fundraising initiative. I would like to congratulate him on inspiring others to make a difference and being committed to giving something back to the community. I send Ian my personal best wishes as he seeks to do his part towards achieving our 2020 Vision and making progress on The Road to Renewal to mend broken Britain.”
