A video exhibition by St Helens schoolchildren and sheltered accommodation residents has been launched online.
Produced by Year 5 pupils from Merton Bank Primary School and residents from Riverside ECHG’s Ivy Court, Visions of Life was commissioned by Riverside to bring young and old people together in a bid to bridge the generation gap.
As part of the project, participants interviewed each other about various topics from holidays to hobbies, leading to a greater understanding of each other. The project aims to break down barriers in the community and unite different age groups by celebrating their similarities and differences.
Riverside’s Community Engagement Officer Carol Reddecliff said: “Intergenerational projects like this challenge stereotypes and foster a real understanding between people of different ages and backgrounds.
“As well as being fun, initiatives such as Visions of Life can strengthen communities and promote social inclusion, equality and mutual respect.”
