Spire Homes’ tenant, Dave Stuttle has been awarded the chance to form part of the new National Tenant Council in charge of influencing government policy and housing practice. 50 Social Housing tenants were selected from across the UK from a variety of backgrounds, ages and cultures.

Dave will be at the heart of decision making for homes and neighbourhoods. It is a chance for tenants to shine, bringing a creative inspirational initiative to decision making. This step will enable Government, landlords and tenants to work together on more equal terms.

Dave said, “This is a golden opportunity for tenants to be involved in influencing housing policy at a national level. There are over 8 million tenants who now potentially have a voice and an opportunity to make their views heard. We have had the first meeting of the NTC and have made a very good start by responding to the TSA new regulatory framework”.

John Farrar, Chairman of Spire Homes said “we are very pleased that out of 1400 applicants, Dave was one of 50 chosen to represent tenants’ views across the country. He is very passionate about social housing and we know that he, along with the rest of the group, can make a real difference. We are all extremely proud of him at Spire Homes!”
