Trafford Housing Trust is celebrating after receiving a first class rating in the Best Companies Accreditation - for the second year on the run.
The Registered Social Landlord, which is just five-years-old in March, is delighted to have achieved its second One Star rating in the scheme.
Best Companies praises organisations with high levels of employee engagement and is based on staff feedback.
The Trust owns and manages around 9,000 homes in the borough and employs 360 staff.
Research has shown that workplace engagement is the driver of sustainable business performance.
The Best Companies accreditation was established six years ago and follows the ‘Michelin’ style star rating system for organisations that demonstrate high levels of engagement with staff. Based on their feedback, organisations receive a score, which determines their star rating.
The survey measures eight elements relating to employee engagement:
• Leadership: How employees feel about the head of the
organisation, senior managers and the company’s values and
principles.
• My Manager: How employees feel about and communicate with
their direct manager.
• Personal Growth: What employees feel about training and
their future prospects.
• Wellbeing: How employees feel about stress, pressure at
work, and work/ life balance.
• My Team: Employees’ feelings towards their immediate
colleagues and how well they work together.
• Giving Something Back: The extent to which employees feel
their organisation has a positive impact on society.
• My Company: The level of engagement employees have with
their job and organisation.
• Fair Deal: How happy employees are with their pay and
benefits.

The total number of ‘Star Status’ accredited
organisations this year is 410, broken down as follows:
• 50 organisations achieved Three Star Status
• 140 organisations achieved Two Star Status
• 220 organisations achieved One Star Status
Thirteen housing associations received One Star this year,
eleven received Two Stars and two received Three Stars.
