Residents at a Stirling sheltered housing centre were given a Burns lunch to remember thanks to the partners working to repair and maintain properties in the area.

Approximately 30 residents at Develin Court in Whins of Milton tucked in to a hearty lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties courtesy of repairs and maintenance partners Cairn Housing Association and Connaught Partnerships Ltd.

Stephen Bell, Connaught customer experience coordinator, donned an eye catching high-visibility kilt especially for the occasion while local piper Ian McDonald ensured the haggis made a fitting entrance to the centre, before residents took their turn to recite some of The Bard’s best loved songs and poetry.

Stephen Bell said “As well as being great fun for all concerned, events such as this provide a perfect opportunity to engage with our customers and to listen to exactly what is important to them. The feedback we received regarding the repairs service will prove invaluable to allow us to further improve the service for tenants at Develin Court and other Cairn Housing Association properties.”

Mandy Hiddleston, service manager, said: “This was a real treat for the tenants and everyone at Develin Court really appreciated the partners taking the time to come into the centre to organise a Burns lunch to remember.”
