Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) has welcomed two new faces to their Tenancy Support Team.
Police Constables Gary Jenkins and Phil Rule have joined the specialist WDH unit and are raring to go.
Gary, from the Pontefract Police Station, has been a policeman for 29 years and says his new role is a great opportunity to continue his desire to work closely with the community.
He said: “For the past few years I’ve been working closely with schools on tackling anti-social behaviour. When I heard about the good work that WDH is doing in the community I thought it would be the right move for me.
“I’m looking forward to joining a great team in the south east, in South Kirby, South Elmsall and the Crofton areas.”
Phil meanwhile hails from the Normanton Neighbourhood Police Team and says he was attracted to the role because of the new challenge it offers him after 22 years on the beat.
He said: “I know several of the team at WDH and I was interested in the way they go about their work. It’s a new approach for me. I’ve always liked the way WDH works in partnership with the police.”
Phil‘s patch will be on WDH estates in the Featherstone, Pontefract and Knottingley areas.
