John halfway through the shave! John halfway through the shave!

More from Longhurst Group

Housing association, Spire Homes’ chairman, John Farrar, shaved his beard off for the first time in 3 years for charity on the 8th January. John has raised over £200 to help Homeless International, a charity that works across Asia and Africa to help improve the lives of some of the poorest people in the world.

Georgina, who works at Sarah’s Salon in Rushden, Northamptonshire, had the honours of shaving John’s beard and she even agreed to do it for free to help the cause.

John said, “It was a shock to lose my beard after having it for so long, but I am so pleased to do it for such a good cause. I hope that the money will help Homeless International continue with their superb work.”
