Santa and his helper at the Victorian Christmas Fair at Edge Hill Station
Edge Hill Station in Liverpool played host to a Victorian Christmas fair organised and supported by repairs and maintenance provider Morrison, housing association Riverside and Metal Culture.
The day was a great success and provided an opportunity for local people to experience Christmas as it would have been in Victorian Britain, and to learn about the importance of Edge Hill Station, which is the oldest passenger station in the world.
Everyone who attended the event enjoyed the festive craft and
food stalls and the music which was provided by the Formby brass
band and harpist Rebecca Joy Sharp. Children visiting the fair also
had a chance to meet Father Christmas and share their Christmas
wishes. Each child also received a special present from Santa,
which was kindly donated by the Merseyside Residents Network, JC
Construction, TRLJ Building Maintenance, Calder Builders and Stokes
Clarkson. The toys, which were left, have been donated to the
Crosby Lions Toy Appeal.
