Riverside was proud to sponsor the 2009 Braunstone Awards in Leicester.

Riverside along with other partner agencies, who have been working together as part of the New Deal for Braunstone, sponsored the categories at the awards ceremony in recognition of the work that local residents and agencies have done in the past year.

This was the second year that the awards were held by the Residents Network, part of Neighbourhood Management in Braunstone, to celebrate the fantastic community spirit.

Riverside sponsored the category of The Worker in the Community Award which was won by Anita Robinson of Leicester City Parks department. Anita oversees the running of community groups that use the park, encouraging people to be aware and have ownership of their green spaces. Anita also went on the win the Community Champion Award, for the work she does with all ages and is a well known and respected face in the area.

Riverside Area Housing Officer, Jo James said: “It was a fantastic night enjoyed by all the people who attended. Riverside has over 200 properties in the area and we along with the other agencies work closely with residents to make the area a great place to live. By sponsoring the award ceremony we can show our appreciation for the work the residents have done along with the partner agencies involved in the Braunstone area.”
