Residents at a Long Buckby sheltered housing scheme are proving they are ‘One in a Million’ after benefiting from a new pergola.
Thanks to housing association Daventry & District Housing and its Major Improvement Programme partner Connaught Partnerships Ltd 30 residents at Greenhill Court are enjoying a new outdoor seating area and plants.
For every million pounds that Daventry & District Housing spends with Connaught, the company gives back one per cent of the value to benefit areas the housing association serves. The latest group to benefit from the One in a Million funding is residents at Greenhill Court after they requested a pergola for their garden where they can enjoy relaxing outside.
Daventry & District Housing tenants are involved in the selection of the projects and consider all proposals that will be of benefit to the wider community.
Scheme manager at Greenhill Court Samantha Crawford said: “The residents are delighted with their new pergola. They were really keen to get an area they could use outside, as well as the conservatory they have.
“It is great that both Daventry & District Housing and Connaught are dedicated to reinvesting in the communities they work in. We would all like to say thank you for the hard work by staff from Connaught that went into building the pergola.”
David Hinchley, operations manager for Connaught said: "We are committed to putting something back into the communities in which we work and through our One in a Million scheme are delighted to be able to assist another very worthy cause. The creation of the pergola has been a real team effort and we are thrilled that it will bring such benefit to the residents at Greenhill Court."
