An inspector at the UK's largest prison has called for mobile phone signals in jails to be jammed to prevent inmates using banned forms of communication while behind bars.

David Jamieson, chairman of Wandsworth prison's Independent Monitoring Board, argues that blocking phones would prevent prisoners using them to organise crimes, bully inmates and trade drugs.
