Connaught customers have given Macmillan Cancer Support ten thousand reasons to celebrate after participating in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
More than 50 events coordinated by Connaught Partnerships Ltd and partners across England, Scotland and Wales saw an incredible combined total of £10,142 donated to Macmillan Cancer Support to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer
All customers of Connaught’s partners were invited to attend the events to enjoy a refreshing brew and a chat with fellow tenants, housing representatives and Connaught staff, while 100% of donations received were passed directly on to Macmillan.
Alison Essery, National Events Coordinator for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are very grateful to Connaught for all their hard work for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. It is great that Connaught managed to get so many people involved in making their cup of coffee count. They have proved that everybody can get involved in such an easy event and every penny raised will be used to help make a dramatic difference to the lives of thousands of people.”
As well as providing refreshments for the events, Connaught also pledged to donate 50p for every customer satisfaction survey completed whilst there.
Karen Ingham, Connaught customer experience & people director, said: “The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a much-loved annual occasion and we are delighted to be able to assist by hosting events at many of our partnerships right across the UK.
“As well as raising funds for a fantastic cause the coffee mornings have also enabled us to get even closer to our residents and the feedback we have received will prove invaluable in helping us to shape our future service for customers.”
In 2008 the Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised over £7.5 million after more than 45,000 people held coffee mornings across the UK.
