Business Link West Midlands (BLWM) has launched a new programme of free workshops aimed at giving the region’s companies a helping hand over the coming months.

Leading experts will head the first event entitled ‘Business Contingency Planning’ on October 14 at Britannia Stadium, Stanley Matthews Way, Stoke-on-Trent from 9.15am-12noon, led by contingency planner and IT ‘disaster recovery’ adviser Taidhgh O’Regan.

But for those who can’t attend the daytime workshops, BLWM is also staging online downloadable seminars called ‘Winning the Price Game’ on the importance of accurately pricing products and services, and ‘Making the web work for you’ - explaining how to make the web work for your business.

The session deals with how to create and test a contingency plan that will enable businesses to prepare and manage for the unexpected and to understand the impact of a major disruption.

BLWM Head of Marketing Services Helen Goring said: “We’re pleased to be able to announce the launch of these workshops tailored towards businesses that have been trading for at least 18 months.

“There has been much economic doom and gloom recently and it is important to look to the future to not only safeguard our businesses but, crucially, to help them grow and flourish. Each themed workshop provides businesses with a handy toolkit to make the most of their existing resources and tap into alternative support they may not know exists.

“This is an important time economically and we want companies to know we are here for them and have access to a wide range of help and guidance.”

Anyone unable to attend the event in person can take advantage of two separate online video workshops.

The 45-minute long video entitled ‘Winning the Price Game’ can only be downloaded on certain days at certain times:

October 15 at 10am and October 16 at 3pm.

The ‘Making the Web Work for You’ online video can be downloaded for free at the following times:

October 22 at 8am;
October 23 at 8am;
October 26 at 12noon;
October 27 at 7pm;
October 28 at 7am;
October 29 at 10am and
October 30 at 3pm.
