Residents playing hook-a-duck
Residents from Fellmead and Arlbury Road, Northampton, and staff from Sanctuary Housing came together for a fantastic fun day in the sun on Saturday, 12th September.
Organised by the Fellmead and Arlbury Residents Association, Sanctuary provided £300 funding towards the event which was held to enhance community spirit, bringing residents together from both schemes to meet each other in a fun and relaxing environment.
The event was attended by over 70 residents and activities included a bouncy castle and games such as hook-a-duck and guess the number of sweets in the jar.
A barbecue and ice cream van provided refreshments on the day, while representatives from Northamptonshire Police Force were on hand to answer residents’ questions about the services they provide in the area.
The day proved a huge success and resident Sheila Riley, who helped organised the event, said: “It was great to see so many children out having fun and we hope to hold even bigger and better events in the future.”
Jacqueline Wood, Sanctuary’s housing officer, added:
“Many of our residents have expressed an interest in getting
to know each other and this was the perfect way to bring the
community together and have fun at the same time.”
