Community Gateway Associaton's (CGA) and Preston City Council's Neighbourhood Management Teams Partnership Event held on the 11 July was hailed a success by residents, as people from all across Preston came to find out more about how CGA and it's partners are changing the face of neighbourhoods across the city.

Held on Preston's historic Flag Market over 20 stalls were on show which included a range of services provided by CGA , FDG projects ( CGA's improvements programme contractor), Racial Equality Council, Preston Citizen Zone, St Johns Ambulance , The Wildlife Trust and a range of fun activities including old favourites such as Bat the Rat, Face Painting and Balloon Modeling.

Residents played a major role at the event with stalls that were managed by the Gateway Tenants Committee and TUG ( Tenant Umbrella Group) promoting the Community Gateway Model and advising residents on how as members they are taking the decisions that matter within their estates and neighbourhoods.

This  was followed by a week of activity across the city where the Community Empowerment team and volunteers staged mini events across CGA's 10 local community areas.

Jinty Longstaff Community Empowerment Officer at CGA commenting " The Partnership day and action week is what CGA is all about, bringing together key agencies and people from across Preston to show how by working as one team we are making a difference across the city in delivering real empowerment to residents and neighbourhoods".

Nafysa Patel Race Hate Manager at Preston & Western Lancashire Racial Equality Council commenting on the event "I just wanted to say well done to CGA on organising a fantastic event. It was a really effective way of engaging with the public and promoting vital services. We are really pleased to have been a part of this and looking forward to the next one already!"
