Helping Muslims comply with their religious beliefs at home and ‘in public’ has become easier with the launch of the Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita.

The most advanced toilet of its kind, the automatic toilet/bidet/drier helps satisfy Qadaahul Haajah requirements, by cleansing the user with water in place of toilet paper. It is WRAS approved, enabling it to be connected to the UK water supply: the only complete, automatic shower toilet that has this certification.

The Clos-O-Mat Palma Vita combines the appearance of a conventional toilet with douching and drying facilities, in one stylish unit no bigger than a traditional WC. One simple press of the flush pad (by hand, elbow or body pressure) or the remote control hand switch triggers the flushing, washing and drying process. Pressing the flush pad starts simultaneous flushing of the unit and douching with warm water, heated as required to body temperature. Releasing of the flush pad triggers warm air drying for up to three minutes. The functions can be stopped at any time simply by standing up. Because the process uses water, in place of paper, it helps compliance with Qadaahul Haajah.

After use, the douche arm retracts and self-cleans using the clean water supply to the Palma. It uses no chemicals, and therefore continues to sanitise the douche throughout the life of the unit, not just until the disinfectant reservoir empties.

Total Hygiene has worked closely with award-winning commercial design house Goodwin Design to produce a range of optional extras that enable customisation of the Palma to individual requirements and complement the unit’s modern styling, including a range of four plinths shaped to match the Palma’s WC pan to enable the unit to be set at appropriate height for the user, a remote control or air operated hand or foot switch, a selection of seat options complemented by one specifically designed for children and three douche options.

Robin Tuffley Total Hygiene Marketing Manager comments, “The technology used in the Clos-o-Mat is proven: we have over 30 years’ experience in supply and installation. The toilet gives everyone- regardless of ability or religious commitment- the ability to toilet in privacy and with dignity. It is acknowledged as the leader in this sector, installed in locations such as Sage Gateshead, The Trafford Centre and The Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington.”

The Clos-O-Mat Palma Vita is available nationwide and supported by Total Hygiene’s comprehensive sales, support and service package.
