Arsenal Football Club is ‘standing up for autism’ today to mark World Autism Awareness Day in support of its former Charity of the Season TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education.
Bacary Sagna and Johan Djourou help mark this important day as TreeHouse launches a brand new information and social networking website called talkaboutautism.org.uk.
Sponsored by TalkTalk, the site will:
- provide expert information and advice about autism and how to navigate the education system.
- host a moderated online community for all parents and carers of children with autism to share experiences, ideas and support.
Ian Wylie, TreeHouse Chief Executive, said: “One in a hundred school aged children have autism in the UK and yet the services and support available to them and their families are often woefully inadequate. As the national charity for autism education, TreeHouse believes that the right education is key to transforming the lives of children with autism and the lives of their families. We are delighted to have the continued support of Arsenal Football Club and are calling on everyone to join us on 2 April to mark World Autism Awareness Day.”
Arsenal Manager Arsène Wenger said: “We fully
support TreeHouse with their new venture launched today and hope
that they continue their work for autism education. After working
with TreeHouse last season, we are happy to support TreeHouse on
World Autism Awareness Day and we remain a proud Club to still be
involved with this charity.”
