Newham Council is transforming the way refuse and recycling is collected.
As part of the council's efforts to improve services, the times for picking up waste and recycling has changed.

Refuse collections, which include waste from wheelie bins and recycling in orange bags, will now be collected from 6am in the morning.

The revised times have been introduced to improve collection rates by avoiding heavy traffic and congestion during rush hour. It will also help to improve collections from some areas that are difficult to access.

Households are asked to make sure their waste is available for collection from 6am on the morning of their collection day.

Executive member for public realm, Councillor Ian Corbett, said: "Residents tell us that having a clean environment matters to them. We always look at how we can make real changes in order to make the borough cleaner.

"People will soon see that the changes will make a difference."
